Forgive me if this is somewhere else on the board. I tried a search and didn't find anything.
I've got my visa interview at the Korean consulate in the states soon, and am wondering what kinds of questions I can expect, or what it's like, and how long it takes.
I'm guessing it's not going to be any big deal, but I'd like to be prepared.
Thanks! So so excited to come to Korea! |

..or i just won't post on here because every time I do someone freaks out at me for asking a question that either was asked years ago or wasn't answered completely, or even if it was SO WHAT. I'm new to the board and am not an expert on the intricate rules of how many people can look for help on a single topic.
I hope the other teachers I meet in Korea are friendlier than the people on this board. |

Nope - we are all a$$holes!
You are lucky because many people after seeing the same questions over and over again stop responding! And you will wonder why nobody answered your question after a few days.
Try this too!

Also this question has been asked about once every two weeks if not more and people have given detailed answers.
Overall the interview is considered half a joke and major hassle. Try to look good and give a positive attitude.

I had my interview at the consulate this morning. I was in and out of there in ten minutes. My interviewer looked over my application, remarked on my university and my degree and then asked me why I wanted to teach in Korea. I said something about a friend who had a great experience and half way through my answer he was practically already standing up to go. I am happy I live close, I'd be pissed if I had to travel far for that "interview." Good luck! |
