I am looking for ideas on how/where to get an affordable Masters in TESOL or English. I am an American living in Korea so if there is anyway this is possible to do it online while living here at the same time, that would be great. Also, I'd prefer the university to be acceptable in America in case I want to eventually teach back there as well. Really any info would help. I don't really want to take 2 yrs off of work to go back to school in the US so the easier/more affordable the better. |

Hi,
Google for anaheim university. Well respected professionals deliver the course and though I am not sure of the price people here on the board have responded positively about the course. |

I've heard decent things about Shenandoah's online course as well. However, given the big names in the Anaheim Program I'd probably go for that.
Neither of these, and very few MATESOL's proper, will be any good for teaching ESL in public schools in the US. Certainly if you get a teaching license on top of these MATESOL's you will have your pick of public school jobs.
They will help for private language schools in the US or for some part time community college teaching if you are lucky (but the competition is really stiff at most Community Colleges so probably not, but they will help). |

Framingham State College - Korea University MEd TESL

Full contact hours, but squeezed into one or two week sessions, meaning you're in class for 80 hours over the course of ten days. We're in the second cohort right now, so the only bad news is that it might be difficult to enroll before late 2011. |
