This is the second strange one I've received.

Dear Teachers,

Thanks for the mail.

Well,we have decided to contact you because we need help teaching my wife and child.

My name is Mr _____ ______ and I am 40 years old, Am ____ Manager of Hotel ____ _____ London. My spouse ______ is thirty three years old and works as a Nurse but needs English to start up her job here in London.

We live in a four bedroom house in _________ (address)_____ United Kingdom and have one son ___ age 5 years old.

___(son)likes to go to the parks once a week and we would like you to take him.
We will require you to teach (son) and my wife for about 30hrs a week. You will have weekends free and we will pay you 500 per week pocket money which we will give to you every Friday.

Our residence is very open and near the city and there are other teachers close by. In the area there is one pub full of young people, a shop/post office and a hall where people get together to have parties. There is also a bus stop outside our house with direct access into the city centre.

You will have your own bedroom and your own bathroom either live in or live out fully furnished , plus deskphone and computer system with internet.

We do not have any pets and we do not smoke.

We need an esl teacher to start with us soon and stay until at least 6 months or more. We will need you to drive our second car if you can and we shall arrange some driving lessons for you when you arrive. You may use this car for taking care o your personal needs.

Do tell us when you will be ready to travel and start up duties with us.send picture/resume.

We are a fun young family looking for a kind hearted fun Teacher to mix in with our family. Our family shall pay for all travel expenses okay hence If you are interested and would consider being our teacher, please let me know as soon as you can so that I can make the necessary enquiries and get back to you.

Yours sincerely

Mr ________

It sounds like some rich Arab and family has been posted to London and needs someone with English on hand to carry out all his daily chores and teach his kids.

Sort of a nanny position.

The job market has really hit an all-time low these days. Rolling Eyes

Laughing That's class. It's a step further than www.dontevenreply.com In the spirit of things:

Dear Mr. Hooks,

Thank you for the email and for considering me for the position. I should point out at this time, however, that I am a TEFL instructor. I think that what you are looking for is an ESL instructor. I am only qualified to teach English as a foreign language but you will no doubt need English as a second language (ESL). Also you should consider hiring a TESOL or TESL instructor because, IMO, they would be more suited to the job.

If you still wish to hire me I must also point out that I would be unable to supply you with a criminal background check. Nothing to be alarmed about, just a minor issue I had with a small quantity of an illegal substance when I was younger. My parole officer will act as a reference in respect of this matter.

I also would like to mention my condition which prohibits me from driving. I have a rare condition known as Alektorophobia, and with so many chickens crossing the road these days, it's just not an option.

Anxiously awaiting your response,
