|

I was curious as to if anyone has had any experience with EPIK and their pet. On the application it asks if a pet will be coming and was wondering if anyone has brought theirs and what their experience was like. |

My wife and I brought our two beagles. They didn't care. They need to know so that they can place you in an apartment/villa/one room that allows pets. Not all allow dogs.
My school could care less that we have dogs. Just remember, this is Korea and things will not always be easy. You will have to search and search for someone to take care of them during vacations. There are only a couple of animal hotels (vets keep them in cages) in Seoul and they are expensive if you make full use of your vacations.
Also, you will have school dinners. This means that you might be gone from 8:30am until 10pm or later.
You will also get dirty looks from many Koreans. Some might even say something to you.
It was difficult at first with ours. However, all the kids in our apartment love them. They are quiet and we never let them relieve themselves any where near our apartment complex. This helps a lot with the relationship you have with your neighbors.
If you have any more questions, please feel free to pm me. |

Thank you so much for the help. I can not PM you because I do not have 25 posts yet (but close!) I only have one cat and he is really well behaved, so I do not see their being a problem, but you never know I guess. If you think there is anything I should know prior to that would be great. Thanks again for the sincere help. |

I had a small Iguana in an aqurium with a sun lamp. Never had a problem. For one teacher training session I invited the teachers over to look at it. None of them would handle it. |

I ordered my pet rats once I moved here. My school knows, because I show pictures of the rats in my powerpoint presentations (running, swimming, playing baseball [holding a baseball], singing [yawning]). The kids go crazy and my coteacher doesn't drop by anymore |

NYC_Gal - rats are the best pets in the whole world! Where did you order them from? I really miss my babies. ;_;
I have a hedgehog. I love him, and he's very cute, but it's been months and he's still terrified of me. Curls up in a ball all the time. Plus, one of my fingers is allergic to him (I don't know why only one) so I have to balance him carefully, which is difficult when he's a big ball of spikes. *le sigh* Makes me appreciate rats that much more... |
