I'm a UK citizen and I'm having a hard time figuring out what I need to do for the visa. I have signed my teaching contract, my recruiter has sent the documents away for the visa and I have called the consulate for an interview. Unfortunately the consulate said my documents are assessed first and then they decide whether I need an interview or not.
They also mentioned something about an application form and directed me to their website. At the moment their website pages say 'bandwidth limit exceeded' when I click on the visa links.
People from the UK, what steps did you follow to arrange your visa? Did you have to fill in any application forms and have an interview? |

When you get the visa confirmation number back from your recruiter you use that when you book your appointment.
The application is also available at the counter in the consulate and only takes about 5 minutes to fill in.
Take a couple of passport type photos with you (to attach to the application).
Pay the fee, have the interview and wait a day or 4 for your passport and visa to be returned to you. Get on the plane and away you go.

This is the current, as far as I'm aware, things you need to do/send. Contact the embassy to make sure.
Fill in the two forms below first and then send everything to the embassy (or take it in person).

Your original passport
28 postal order made payable to the Korean Embassy (London)- this may have gone up. Ring the embassy,
2 colour passport sized photos

You should get your passport back after 5 working days. You can pick it up in person or have it delivered. You will need to include an envelope with your address on it with extra money to cover delivery if you don't pick it up in person. Not sure exactly what that cost is currently.
Interview? No. You'd be in the minority of UK applicants if you did get interviewed. |

Thanks for the information. You are both right. I managed to find the official visa page for UK citizens at http://gbr.mofat.go.kr/eng/index.jsp . Everything is the same, except the visa fee has now gone up to 33. |
