A co-worker's family member passed away. I'll be visiting the coworker who is in the hospital.
What do I say/do? |

Did they ask you to go? You would not be expected to go. They won't take it personally |

Most likely the school will arrange a group outing to the funeral place/hospital after school. Go along with them. The family generally stays at the hospital all day long, for a few days. Once there you're supposed to do some bowing a few times, just do what the other teachers do. Your fellow teachers might collect some money before hand, in the range of 10,000-20,000-won, to give to the grieving teacher.
After you'll be fed with food and soju for free. |
