Hi guys,

did any of you find that after you turned down a job offer with a recruiter that they basically gave you the cold shoulder from there on out? Bit worried in case Ive alienated myself... Confused

I was civil and polite, didnt specify the reasons for turning down the offer (i.e. contract was a pile of dog do do) but as I said worried in case Ive shot myself in the foot.

Yeah, one time.

I told him what I was looking for pretty exactly and there should have been a ton of positions with those characteristics as most teachers dont want those jobs.

He offered me the complete opposite of what I was asking for. He offered me two choices which I turned down as they were completely off the chart.

I never heard back from him ever again. Though that was no loss as if he cant read what I wanted, then its not much point using him.

It happens all the time.

I think some recruiters have a few jobs available (because they're friends with certain hogwon owners) and they just offer those jobs to any new prospective teacher. If the teacher declines the offer then they move on. They're working for the school and not you.

As others have said just apply to more recruiters.
