Hello there!

I'm 22,female,Malaysian.

Currently staying at Yeoksam,Seoul. I came to Korea to pursue my streetdance training. In the mean time, I've hard time finding part time job because I cant converse well in Korean.

Is there any job that uses English or very simple Korean, or doesnt need to speak at all? I dont mind working as barista, kitchen helper and other jobs. Bad thing is,people are not hiring me because of my language.

IM looking from the internet for all kinds of posts, but they just want english teachers, teachers and more teachers.

I need the job to support myself. Currently doing nothing but attending dance class. Cant stand this kind of life anymore.
Please help. Thank you very much.

Contact the Seoul Global Center for Foreigners for advice.

They have counselors that offer foreigners free advice on a wide range of subjects and also post job opportunities. I saw alot of possibilities on there for you. Search job categories like: restautrant and food service, retail/wholesale, hospitality/tourism, sales/trading/customer service, arts/entertainment/media and others.

Here's their link: http://global.seoul.go.kr/

Phone: (02) 2075-4130/4131.

Good luck!

In Ilsan, there used to be a musical company that went to kindergarten hakwons and did musical shows for English ed. All the performers could sing and dance. They had to dress up like characters, though.

There is one main street that runs along Jeongbalsan park, and has Jeongbalsan Catholic church passing on the left. The next two blocks down are all hakwons (or they used to be) and one of those blocks was the headquarters for that musical company. Does anyone in Ilsan know if this place is still around?

Anyway, you might want to consider opening up your job possibilities and maybe you could make a bit more money and not have to shoot so low just to get by. Nobody cares about your English if you sing the words correctly.

Then again there've got to be places doing that kind of kindie-tour stuff in Seoul.
