Hi, I will be moving to Wonju soon. For those who live or have lived there, or who have visited the city, I would love to hear your thoughts on life there as an expat. Particularly...
How large is the foreign community there, and is it easy to meet them?
Are there a decent number of western grocery stores and restaurants if I ever miss it?
What do you do for fun on weekends?
Also, how is the city for those who are older? I know it's primarily a college town, but I'm past that age. Does the city seem really young?
And any other personal thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! |

Every mid-size Korean city is exactly the same....really, it is.
There will be a decent size foreign community in Wonju, plenty of "Western" style supermarkets, coffee shops, restaurants, and whatnot. You need not worry.
Korea is not the same as it was even 5 years ago....it's a much, much easier place to live now. |
