Hey guys,
I'm in Seoul and I need copies of my degrees notarized for my MA application. I was wondering if anyone has gone to the Canadian embassy in Seoul to get their documents notarized. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks! |

I had my CBC notarized there a few weeks ago. It costs 55,000 won per page (or per document, I guess?), and was done on the spot.
Go in, walk up to the desk, get assigned a number, wait your turn (around 20 mins, maybe), hear your name, walk into the office next to reception, they stamp your document, profit.
Just be sure to bring cash, as they'll accept nothing else.
Note: they're friendly |

| Also, make sure you go in the morning. If I remember correctly, they are only open in the morning for processes. |

What you're referring to is the "apostille" sticker. Notarization in Canada costs substantially more than that, and requires a notary public or lawyer. There is a cheap guy in Toronto who does it for $14. Still, notarization in the $50 range in Canada is not unusual either, especially by lawyers. |

| I'm a little confused. If you are in Canada, do you take your diploma to the Korean consulate? But if in Korea you go to the Canadian embassy? |

When you want to apply to school in Korea, they want your degree to be notarized by the Canadian Embassy to ensure that its a legitimate document. I did the same thing when I applied for uni here in Seoul.
If I remember correctly they will make a photocopy (or take yours if you have one) and either stamp it or emboss it. Forget which. |
