I'm sure this has been asked a thousand times on here... but I'm going home in a month. Just looking for the cheapest way to get home. As far as western companies/travel websites go, all I really know is Expedia. Are there a few Korean websites I should know about?? |

I don't know about Korean websites, but I use www.kayak.com to compare fares. I used it when I lived in Taiwan, and it was able to identify the cheapest flights to/from the US about 90% of the time. |

You doing round-trip or one way? Check out TopTravel. It's a Korean travel agent. They got me a round-trip with open return for one year, and I ended up on JAL in premium economy with a sleeper seat for around 1.2 (on short notice).
Here's the website, but you're better off to call the number provided:

Thanks... that second link (top travel) had some great prices. Now if only I could figure out how to make a reservation online... blah. |

Like I said, you're better off calling.
It should be pointed out that this company, along with most of the other Korean sites, only book flights to major U.S. cities. |

I took a freighter from Busan to Long Beach March of last year. A bit boring, but if you need to study or enjoy reading and watching DVD's it's a good trip. |

Can you tell me more about this? I've always wanted to take a boat across the ocean. How much was it? How long did it take? Can you let me know the company info, with a link if possible?
Thanks. |

Just to warn everyone... prices are brutal in August. I guess because Korea's on summer vacation. Cheapest I can find to go to New York is 1,350,000 WON (taxes included). There seem to have been a bunch of flights for nearly half that, but they're all sold out. |

1.35 is brutal? That sounds OK to me, I've been getting estimates in the 2.3 range.
Where did you get that estimate? |

I looked into it... it's incredibly expensive. Came out to like $4,000 for the trip. Can't remember where I looked it up, though. |
