|
|
I am going to be leaving Korea for good on July 26 and according to my Korean teacher her Gepik guide book claims that she has to get my medical ID and my ARC card. I told her that the ARC card is collected before I board the plane at the airport by immigration. Is this true or does she have the right to take the card? Does anyone have the phone number for immigration (English line) Namyangju area. Would I also have to call the airport immigration to reconfirm what the local office claims? I am just looking for someone to get on the phone with her and tell her NO you do not take the card.
Thanks |

She's wrong. You hand in your card when you leave Korea.
English immi line is 1345. They can tell she is overstepping her bounds and possibly setting you up for a fine. |

Do I just dial 1345 from a business phone? Why would Gepik put false information in a book for the handler to see? I think she is looking for someone offical to tell her no ,so if her supervisor at Gepik says something she is covered. |

Hi There,
Do you need to stay more time then the last day on your contract?. The only case where this might be true is if you need a short extension.
The only other time she could need these is to input computer data for the office of education as some co- teachers do. But in that case they do not keep it. |

Make a photocopy. You need it when you leave the country at the airport. |

No! I am leaving on my required date. 1. Is there something in the handlers book she gets from Gepik or is she misreading it? 2. If I dial 1345 from a business phone do I need to dial 02 or just 1345? 3. Will the lady/ man from immigration let her know if I do not turn it in at the airport that I will be fined and she has no right to take it ?
Any help would be appreciated. |

I think he means that the great Harry Callahan would know what to do, or say, in your situation. |

I understand that you agree with him,but I still have two questions. 1. do I need to dial 02 from a business phone to get 1345 2. Why would that teacher claim this misinformation was in a guide book Gepik furnished her with? thanks |

Proofread!
Tell your co-teacher that you lost your card and can't find it and that you'll need a day off to go immigration to get a new one and two weeks to wait for it. Pretty sure she'll back down after that. |
