Hi
I'm in Canada now, but had my Korean pension deposited into my Korean account as I was planning on coming back to the ROK to teach once again.
Well, I've since decided to stay in the homeland and try to make a go of it. I don't think there is any way of obtaining those funds from here so I'm coming back to empty my account, sell my stuff and pick up what I want to bring home.
So, is there a way to find out if my pension contribution has already been deposited? I don't want to come back to Korea until I know it has been.
Thanks. |

I'm assuming you dont have internet banking, otherwise you could have just looked at your account online to see if the money was there. Unfortunately, without internet banking you also likely dont have the digital certificate needed to check your pension online at the pension website (explained in the 'Pension Refund and checking your balance' sticky in job related discussion forum).
The easiest alternative that I can suggest is you have a friend in korea call the pension office impersonating you and have them ask about your balance in your pension account. Your friend will need your ARC# as they always ask for that, but thats about the extend of their privacy controls. |
