|
|
| Is Hong Kong a good travel destination for Lunar New Year? I've read some conflicting information. On the one hand, there's the parades and festivals, but on the other hand I heard a lot of stuff will be closed (and we wanted to go shopping, etc). Is there enough open during this time to spend 3 or 4 days there? Or should we plan on somewhere else? |

| I did some googling and it looks pretty cool. Finding a cheap ticket in for that time period might not be easy, though. |

| Make sure you have a place to stay. Rooms could become scarce, but I'm just guessing. |

| I'm looking for more info on doing this as well. I found a RT ticket on Kayak for $340. Seems like HK is the only place you can really get a good visit in for only a week. |

Interested too but wondering if hostels will all be full.
Does anyone know if banks will be closed for several days? One reason of the trip was to go to a bank too. |

| I was in HK for Lunar New Year 2 years ago...the bars were open, but otherwise the entire city was closed. However, that is only on the actual day of Lunar New Year - not the days before/after. We just drank all day and partied around HK since there was nothing to do that day. Therefore, if you have more than just that day to see the sights, you are good, but if you plan to spend a short period of time there, it's not a good idea. |
