I have one, sometime in the next month, I'm not sure, I never listen to these things. But I know it's 5 days, INCLUDING weekend, which sucks. Better than my friend who hasn't had a single day in 18 months, though.

Anyway, I want to go to a country around southern Asia, by myself, and survive, for those few days and was wondering if anyone knows a cheap way to get there, wherever that may be.

I exclude Philippines (Family Lived there for a few years), Thailand, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Vietnam and Taiwan. Everybody goes these places, that isn't scary enough.

From korea, there is no cheap place to go in the next month. It's high travel season and any cheap tickets were bought at least a couple months ago.

Aye, I know, but by cheap I suppose I mean 6-700. 1000 is way out, But I can go to the North Mariana, or Kuala Lumpur for under 600, they're two ideas.

Why not go to Burma? Although I don't know if you have time to get the visa. Have had several friends go over there and enjoyed it very much.

www.bing.com/travel is also a good search engine that actually has seats. When I search www.whypaymore.co.kr or .072.com, I only 0 seats available on everything. Travel agents are slow to respond and their sites aren't updated, but only show last Winter's prices.

You might pay a few dollars more, but American sites offer up good service where you can buy, print, and fly away.

I keep hearing good things about Laos (though it might be a bit far just for 5 days). The last I looked it was over a million won for flights, but obviously it's very cheap when you get there.

unless you have been to all those countries you mentioned for 5 days one of those is your best bet. there are plenty of places in those countries to go and get away from foreigners if thats your goal. KL is cool for a couple days, and you could take a bus south or north if you wanted. even go to singapore for a day. but 5 days is pretty short. i would suggest north korea. its close, cheap to get to (either a DMZ tour fee or bus ride north), and the number one best reason........they will assign you a new job just for you for about 8-12 years! i mean if that isnt 'scary enough' for you i dont know what gets you off.

Thanks for all that. Although that Bing website directs to Daum.whatever and is all in Korean...

I've taken it all into account including North Korea, Knowing full well tours there are now banned, and I've already been to the DMZ.

However I came to the conclusion of Vietnam, since as somebody rightly says, I haven't been there so why exclude it. I've found tickets and Hotel together at 415, which is great, which a slight downfall of the flight times, I'll essentially lose a day on travel, but It's worth it.

It's worth it because I can spend the rest of my life saying 'When I was in 'nam...' which is worth 500 on its own.
