After almost 4 years of living and working in Korea, I've finally found a job offering me housing allowance + key money.
This means that I can find my own place. The problem is, I don't know where to begin to look.
I've googled real estate agents and have found a few English speaking ones. I'm just curious if anyone has some good ones to recommend.
I'm looking for a place in either the Hapjeong/Hongdae or the Itaewon/Noksapyeong area.
Thanks in advance.
Also, I looked on this site for similar threads but came up empty. |

Hey,
Although I speak solid Korean, I thought it was best for me to have a tough ajumma to do the dirty work, who was also fluent in English. Real estate offices are everywhere, and as you might know its quite a business in Korea. These "used-car salesman" like agents are shady and I wouldn't trust em as far as I could throw em. Therefore, its likely an unsuspecting waygook might get taken advantage of. Anyway, I actually looked near Hapjeong myself but decided a little further north closer to my school. She is more or less your consultant and scouts places and offices to visit together, and then they show you the apartments they have. Because you are with her, she gets the "finder-fee", so you will not be asked to pay an additional fee with the office you sign with. She found me a nice loft(studio) for 500,000/mo with a shower booth, and washer/dryer combo. She fought for getting a respectable contract that came with a few things being fixed (window latch, shower lining) before moving in. Also, her fee, which was very reasonable, is good for the year. Its been months since I moved, and if something comes up I still call her and she takes care of it. No hassles on my end.
If your interested, PM me or reply with a private Email address/phone number as Im not sure if the mods would delete it if I posted her contact info.
Shes legit, and trustworthy, which is very important. |

I've used Gilbert from NearSubway.com and he was UNBELIEVABLY helpful! Good English. Explains everything in the lease, etc. |
