I'm trying to make a lesson plan for the next week and a half for these topics. My class is made of high beginners and lower intermediates. They can understand the reading materials very well without needing any other kind of help. I'm simply looking for activities to pass the time.

The resource I have is called TIME for Kids: Big Picture Edition. My kids BLEW through the reading, and can pronounce everything perfectly. I'm just stuck because this book was supposed to last 3 weeks.

Any ideas? I've googled for activities, but maybe you guys can help me think of a few more. I appreciate the help! ^^

Maybe have them write creative short stories about surviving a volcanic eruption or flooding from a monsoon and have them use the vocab from the reading. I'm a huge fan of getting kids to think creatively because most of their education is repetition based and doesn't involve much critical thinking...

Too many to mention - but first see Larry F's stuff on volcanoes.

More time to reply later but lots on EFL classroom. Here's a nice quiz and get the leveled reader for this in our Resources, Reading , Leveled reading.
