Does anyone know if you can find non-residue shampoo in Seoul anywhere? It's the kind you would use for maintaining dreadlocks. Any help is appreciated. Thanks |

Don't take this the wrong way, but I really do hope you're black. Dreads on a white guy are wrong, just wrong.
Neutrogena shampoo was a brand popular among friends back home with dreads. I also think they use(d) oils like tea tree to help avoid itchiness. |

a better question is where to score somg ganja! I heard it's a tough thing to find in Korea...
but knowing a Rasta-man, now that breeds new hope in the matter.... or "matta!" in your lingo!

try some of the African hair braiding salons in Itaewon; am sure they can recommend (or even sell) something |

The OP didn't mention having dreadlocks, but only that such shampoo is typically used to maintain dreadlocks. It is not enough information to make a deductively valid conclusion that the OP has dreadlocks or supports Rastafarianism. |

Lush sells solid shampoo bars that are incredible in general, but also appropriate for dreads. They're natural and sometimes certified organic. There's one in particular that's especially good for scalps, which might work for you.
You can find Lush in Sinchon, Hongdae and Gangnam. Lemme know if you need directions. |

I'd say in most cases this is true, but my (white) step brother used to have awesome dreads. However, he had the attitude, looks and hair to pull it off. It can be done, just not by many. |

I'm white but white dudes can rock the dreads too. It's just that many white guys (especially asians) have hair that is not conducive to locking up (i.e.straight, coarse). I'm lucky in that I have long hair that is wavy/curly so the process should work much better. I'm goingwith the natural (neglect method)..no wax..no chemicals..just no combing for 3+ years. Wish me luck!!! |

Hmm..that sounds like a good idea. But I've been reading that the 2 brands that dudes have been using to get their dreadlocking going are the Dr.Bronners brand and Dreadlock HQ dread shampoo. I haven't heard anyone say anything about lush...but if it does the job. Have you had any experience with it? |

my hair's not dreaded, so i've no experience with that, but i still swear by dr brommer's peppermint bar as well as any lush shampoo bar i've ever used. they're awesome. they last forever, lather really nicely, smell awesome (not synthetic) and don't contain as many preservatives as a liquid shampoo would. |

LUSH! In Korea!! Sorry, that just made me giddy. I was thinking that was something I was going to have to do without for a long period of time, along with the treasured baths I normally have in my own bathtub.... |
