This afternoon, under and around the bridge near Daemosan Station, hundreds - maybe thousands - of young people were hanging around, wearing costumes and taking photos. Most people were dressed as manga/anime characters but there were also traditional warriors (with replica swords), WW2-era GIs, witches, and other random stuff. One guy was dressed as a notebook with "DEATH NOTE" written across the front.
There didn't seem to be any special events taking place - just loads of people wearing costumes and taking photos. It's not the first time I've seen that sort of thing along that same stretch of Yangjae stream. Anyone know what it's all about? |

They're 'cosplayers'. I used to live down there and used that path on my way home from my bike rides. I'd get quite a chuckle out of some of the stuff I'd see.... But yeah, there were thousands of people sometimes. Cos play is pretty popular here. |

There's a Comic-con at the AT center every month, I think. Most of the people go there, hang out in front, and let people take photos of them.
I went once last summer, and the convention itself was nothing special, but the costumes were pretty fun to see. |
