There are lots of international schools in and around Seoul. Many other major cities have at least one now...
Am I right to say that there are still no international schools for Jeju Island and Chungcheongbuk-Do?
I am not sure there is enough of a wealthy foreign population to support one in Chungcheongbuk-Do. However, I have heard of various plans to open international schools for residents of Jeju Island.
Can any of you satisfy my curiosity by providing accurate knowledge of any future plans or openings for these locations? |

How many of these "international" schools are legitimate though? I know for a fact that a number of them around Seoul are bulging with children of wealthy Koreans whose parents essentially purchased passports. Setting one up to cater to the residents of Jeju just seems like another sham of a school. |

I've wondered that too. There are some 1 million foreigners, but how many are affluent enough to consider to send their kids to one of these schools? I figure diplomats and foreign employees with huge salaries amount to maybe 50,000 people max. So maybe 5 schools tops, one elementary, middle and high school. Not some 20 they have now. |
