|
|
I live in the state of California and I recently submitted a live scan
of my fingerprints to the department of justice to obtain my
CRC.
The application that I got from the DOJ was very confusing though.
At the top it said to choose one...
1. record review
or
2. Foreign Adoption
Heres the confusing part, there was only one box between the two options,
so I told the guy at UPS doing my fingerprints that it was for a work visa.
He submitted to the DOJ, since then I have called and left messages to the
DOJ to clarify before they processed it.
Well today I got my CRC.
The first paragraph states I have a clean record and that the letter they sent me was in response to a background check request, which is good,
but the second paragraph goes to say...
"Pursuant to California Penal Code section 11105, the purpose of a Foreign
Adoption record check is to provide an individual and the foreign government or its designee indicated on the background check request with a copy of the individual's record if needed in conjunction with an application to adopt a minor child from a foreign country."
My question is, did I get the wrong kind of CRC, or can this be
used to get a work visa since it states I have a clean record?
Thank you. |

I'm not a Californian, however I did have to get CRCs from three different states and one of the things I noticed was they use the same form for a lot of different purposes. Perhaps this form you rec'd doubles as both. My 2 cents. |

Next question, I got my university degree notarized and authenticated today. For visa purposes, do I need to notarize a copy of the degree or the
original?
Also for my CRC, does it also need to be notarized and authenticated
in order to get an apostille? |

Notary and apostille on the copy of the degree (as per the new regulations).
Originals are (will be) no longer accepted.
Can't answer about the requirements of the sec. of state for getting the apostille on your CRC.

Do you have to wear a helmet when you ride it? |
