I have a flight to Beijing leaving at 11:35 from Incheon International Airport. Because it's an international flight, I would like to get to the airport no later than 9:30 AM.

I live in Gwangju, so I'm taking a bus to Seoul the evening before the flight. I should arrive around 11:30 or midnight, which, by then, the metro will be closing. I'll have to find a motel to stay in for the night near the bus terminal. My question is, what's the best way (and how long will it take) to get to Incheon from near the Express Bus Terminal (Central City) in Seoul?

I can't find any good help on the web, besides Google maps telling me it's 2 hours by "public transit."

Thanks!

Did you know theres an airport bus that goes direct from Gwangju to Incheon airport? Its basically 24 hours too, buses leaving at 3am 5am etc.

From central city, there are express limo buses that leave every 30 mins or so. With little traffic they take about 50 mins

Excellent!

Do you know if there are any reasonably cheap hotels around the airport?

You can time the bus so you wont have to get a hotel/motel. If you do get there with time to spare though, you can use the jimjilbang on the very bottom floor of the airport.

Youll be able to sleep on a mat and use the spa/shower facilities, think it costs 15,000. You can leave your luggage in the lobby area too and its pretty safe. Never used it but heard its good from others

If you want to know the times for the bus you can go here http://www.usquare.co.kr/ click on the little picture of the bus on the right. On the drop-down menu on the left side of the new window scroll down until you find Incheon Airport (인천공항). You'll see the departure times under "운행시간". Be warned the ones with "심야" are late night buses so the ticket will be a bit more expensive. The bus takes about 4 to 4.5 hours to drop you off at the airport (really depends on traffic).

If you're really paranoid you can even go to U-Square before your departure date and buy the ticket for the date and time you want (just make sure you get the right day!).

I hope this info helps.

Do they usually have lots of tickets for the overnight buses or is it better to buy the ticket in advance??

Definitely buy your ticket in advance. I went to China over Chuseok and waited to long to buy the bus ticket, and because of that the seats were all full and I had to go to Seoul first then take the first airport subway in the morning. Was a lot more hassle than the bus straight from U Square would've been.
