Can anyone recommend a beach near Busan or Ulsan with no lifeguards? I'm at Songjung now and the water is like four feet deep but people are still forced to stay behind buoys. Plus, last night they closed the beach at 6 despite being plenty of sun.

The idea of a public beach being so ridiculously controlled is driving me crazy. So, any recommendations?

I was at MudFest last Wednesday and the police wouldn't let us in past the small surf coming up around your ankles. It was "high tide" apparently. The problem I had with it was they had fifty guys patrolling the light surf, with 20 guys on jet ski about 20 feet out. Why not just have the jet skis 20 feet out? I'm sure they could rescue anyone they needed to. There were enough of them, and Koreans don't really go that far in even when they're allowed to. Once it was low tide and there were some decent sized waves crashing at waist deep, we could have a little bit of fun, but still with a handful of police here and there telling us to get back.

Oh RoryCalhoun, you still know how to pull out nonsensical analogies.
