Anyone know if it plans to go back online again? It's been down for a month or more now. |

It's up right now.....in fact it hasn't been down for more than a few hours in months........you may have a problem with your browser or correct URL address. |

Torrents are so "last decade". Megaupload or Rapidshare are soooo much better IMHO. Don't you guys agree? |

Megaupload tends to be faster than torrents doesn't make me wait ridiculous periods between downloads. So yeah, I prefer them in combination with jDownloader. Any other file-sharing service has horrible wait times between downloads so no torrents become the more elegant solution. |

So quit using crappy public torrent sites. Get yourself onto some decent private trackers and bob's yer uncle. What site makes you wait between downloads? I usually have up to 25 downloading at once and several hundred that I am seeding at any given time.
It is not unusual to download a VCD in a matter of minutes when using Korean internet. DVDs often come in faster than you can watch them and HD or blueray is still fast enough downloading that you typically don't have to wait longer than a few hours.
Heck, my traffic often exceeded several terabytes per week. That is not exactly slow.

I was comparing MU to other public download services. I am on the private tracker this thread is named for and it is very sufficient. However, it is not always faster than MU. |

Demonoid is not a private tracker. Its torrents are listed publicly and one can transcode files without logging in. You just get limited downloads without membership. |

I know it has a public listing, but I've never been any to get any speed without logging in. I've also been on other actual private trackers (no public listings) rarely with content demonoid doesn't offer outside of a specific niche. |

Just wait till you get here.
100 megabit (or even (fddh) giga-bit) connections with no throttles... even on Demonoid I can often get transfer rates of over 5mbps on any file that is well seeded. I occasionally get rates as high as 20mbps on individual files.
p2p and torrents won't be dead any time soon.

What are some private trackers I can look at?
I thought Demonoid was one. I guess I'm out of touch with this kind of stuff but I am well aware of and have used Demonoid, Pirate, Mini Nova, etc., torrent sites.
What are these private sites?
can one easily join? |

IMO, they are more of a headache than a godsend. They all require sign-up, and they all have strict rules.
I'm so sick of having to seed endlessly on dozens of torrents, and for my needs, i get everything I need on Demonoid, or PB. When they fail, i go to private trackers, but it's not often.
Actually, I find I'm using private tracers just to fulfil my quota more. |
