On my first wire transfer from my KEB account to my credit union back in the States, I got hit with a small KEB fee (no prob), a larger incoming fee from the credit union (expected), and a much larger fee from an intermediary bank (which pissed me off).

I've been unhappy with my credit union in other ways, so I'm thinking of switching accounts to a new bank. Can anyone advise (1) which U.S. banks charge the lowest fees for incoming wire transfers, and, importantly, (2) do not use an intermediary bank, but accept the transfers directly themselves? This intermediary bank maneuver is very scammy, if you ask me.

I'm thinking of moving my account to Wells Fargo because there are branches in the town I moved from, and my local agent could handle any necessary in-person business for me there. So if anyone has experiences with Wells Fargo specifically in this regard, those would be good to learn about.
