I saved a kitten today in Gangnam (near COEX), it's about 10 days old. We already have two cats so we can't keep this one, but in the meantime we're nursing it here. The kitten just opened his eyes today and apparently is quite healthy. Put him in a dark place and he sleeps; shine some light and he wakes up and demands milk. Colour is brown. Now looking for a good place for him to live.

This isn't the kitten, but it's pretty similar in both age and colour.

Have you been able to take the kitten to the vet for a check-up and for anti-flea and de-worming medications? A few years ago I also saved a kitten not much older than the one you mentioned. I took her to the vet the next day and they said she was infested with fleas and had to be dewormed. I kept her but wasn't able to bring her to Korea.

That is great that you saved her. I suggest posting her picture on Animal Rescue Korea.

Yep, still available. I took him (not her) to a good vet I know today and they're going to take care of him until someone good comes along.

Video of the kitten:

He's at a vet but it's not open on Sundays so he's back at the apartment for a day and a half. I'm wearing the red shirt because the video was taken just after the game yesterday.

Some people who noticed him at the vet have expressed interest, but we're waiting until he can drink milk on his own before we think of letting anyone adopt him.

Adorable! You're a good man for doing this work. Respect factor is off the charts. I can't adopt because I'm in Busan and allergic to cats =(. I just want to say that you rock for saving this kitty!

Mirth, what does the vet say the chances of kitty surviving are? I saw the video, he's so cute. I hope he makes it.

My cat was rescued by someone as well (actually the mother of my cat) and mom cat and the two siblings died, but they saved him. We adopted him a year and a half ago and he's a BIG cat now. Needless say though he is very clingy and gets upset when we leave. He's a big baby.

Watching cute kitten videos is a good way to keep your heart warmed while desk warming.

The kitten's doing great. He needs to drink milk every few hours and that interferes with sleep so for this week as well I've just had the vet take care of him. Perhaps by this Saturday (vet doesn't operate on Sundays so we have to take him back to the apartment then) he'll be able to drink and go to the bathroom on his own. That's when it'll be time to step up the search for a good home as it won't require 24/7 supervision to take care of him.

Update: now he's a very normal six-week-old kitten:

Who knows about the search for a good home now as he's become quite easy to take care of so we've been a bit lazy about it. One person almost became his owner but that fell through and so he's still here.

I think I'll bump this up one more time just in case. The kitten is doing quite well at the apartment but is spending a lot of time harassing the adult cat there as kittens are wont to do, and two cats in a single apartment while not impossible can be a bit much at times.

I am interested but need to wait until I move into my new apartment to see if they accept pets. Will be able to adopt in a week or two if possible.
