I know this has been done to death but I'm lazy and want to know current issues so...

* What is best about Seoul or Busan?

* Have you lived in both cities?

* How long have you lived in either?

* If you left one for the other, why? And, has the move improved your situation?

If you can think of anything else that would help me better understand the contrast in lifestyle between the two please throw that in as well.

Seoul pays more, if you can get a job in Seoul. Suprisingly enough busan doesn't pay that great.

Seoul has a lot more things to do than Busan and theres more stuff you can buy in Seoul

Busan has Hyundae Beach, which is really nice. Busan has the ferries to Russia, Japan.

With all the ski areas nearby and the mountains, fortresses (Suwon), really nice restaurants, I would much rather be in Seoul.

Numbers are mine.

I have not lived in Busan, but many friends have gone to and fro from both cities.

1. Seoul and Busan pay similarly and both have a comparable COL if you budget. Seoul will cost more if you live like a global citizen because it has more global options. It is easy to spend money in Busan, too.

2. "More stuff do to" means businesses to patronize. Busan has a great draw: Ocean water. This water is free.

3. Haeundae (young_clinton has not lived in Busan due to spelling) is big, but not the best of Busan's beaches especially if you live there, and especially this week. How often will you go to Russia on a ferry? How often will you go to Japan by ferry? You are better off flying from Gimpo to Tokyo or Osaka.

4. Ski areas near Seoul are better, but only High One will begin to compare with anything on Western or Japanese standards, and even High One is a stretch. People in Seoul don't live in Seoul for the ski resorts.

Seoul is the best global city in Korea, but it has a long way to go for attractions, restaurants, civil rights, architecture, and subcultures. It is still far more advanced than Busan.
