What does a British person need for renewing their contract? Have the new visa rules had any implication on what documents you need to get from the UK (Basic Disclosure, etc., etc.)?

What I've heard is:
You can get your CRC notarised at the embassy.
It must be less than 6 months old when you apply for your visa.
Most recruiters specify the subject access CRC. Although basic disclosure might also be acceptable, not sure.
A local/ county check is acceptable until Jan 1st 2011 after which you will need a national check (available from the police national computer).

So I just need a criminal record check to renew my contract?

As far as I know, with renewing...you just go to immigration with someone from your school and they write it on the back of your arc.

However some individual schools and boards have taken to demanding other documents to renew. That is just them being dumb and trying to act independently of what immigration requires.
