Is it just me..or does it feel like the jobs board is a mess?

I feel like I'm not even applying for real positions.

It's just a bunch of recruiters posting a millions jobs with no real info...not even mentioning the name of the hagwon or school, no pics, etc.

btw, I am new to this so I'm not comparing the jobs board now to before. I don't know what it was like in the past.

But from what I can see, it's worse than a craigs list jobs board.

It used to be better, but now it IS only the recruiters posting. What made it really bad was the jobs wanted section. It used to be free and a big help for people. Dave started charging to see it, so it's mostly just recruiters who troll it now.

Notice how they refer to hogwons as "private schools" in order to confuse applicants into believing these mafia-run academies have some sort of professional legitimacy to them.

Yes. Recruiters seem to be very popular with hogwans now. Hopefully the schools will eventually realize that they are being cheated by the recruiters and go back to advertising directly.

I've found posting my resume has got me nothing more than about 20 generic spam emails from recruiters, who never reply anyway.

Great, just what I was looking for.

http://www.eslcafe.com/jobs/korea/index.cgi?read=43344 This si great. In the Korea board it's titled as looking for a teacher for a school Beijing! But, all the schools are in Korea.

Meh, there are fine lines. Cram schools tend in the mafia direction, but in general the folks I know who work for reputable private kindergarten chains don't have too many issues.

Yeah, I get sick of all the people posting here, 'wow, there are HUNDREDS of jobs being posted EVERYDAY! How can you complain about the job market!?'

What they don't realize is that most of these postings are just recruiter spam.
