Korea in 24 days?
I recently got into contact with a recruiter who mentioned that there is still positions available with the Jeollabuk-do education board, but I would have to start on the 26th August, flying out from the UK on the 24th. Theoretically its possible, but is it realistic?
I do know that it would not be possible to get all the vaccinations in time, Hep A and some boosters would be easy enough to get, but anything with multiple courses would be out of the question.
I have all my documents as I'm one of those unlucky fellows who didn't get onto the EPIK programme, and my CRC is still good until the 15th September(issued 15th March). |

Also a UK person here.
The visa took me 9 days to get - it would've been 7 if I delivered it by hand and picked it up if you need the time. Waiting for the contract and NoA would be the problem, but it depends if Jeollabuk-do education board does it in the same way, or if they just give you a number or something. Either way it'd depend on how fast they are with their end.
Most of the vaccinations you need wouldn't be in multiple courses. I think one that was, which was mentioned was Japanese Ensomething - only needed for rural areas and not availible on the NHS, so you could get it in country anyway if you need it, since you'd be paying for it either way and it's unlikely to catch it right off. If you need boosters too, those can be gotten in country. Vaccinations usually aren't mandatory - just a good idea.
Another thought is that flights sometimes get more expensive closer to the time. |

The longest part about getting the visa (if you have your documents ready) is how long it take the employer to go to immigration and get you the visa issuance number. After that, you go to Korean Embassy/Consulate and it takes anywhere from a couple days to a week. So, to answer your question, YES, it can be done in 24 days. Give the embassy a call and ask them how long it usually take at this time of year to process the visa. They have be able to tell you based on how long it's taken them last month.
It's true that flights will be more expensive if you buy them last minute, especially now during high season. That's an advantage of working at a hogwan - they buy you a ticket up front. |

Thanks for the replies. I'm gonna go for it, despite the fact that its going to literally be an edge of the seat ride in order to get everything ready in time. |
