Anyone have any suggestions for how to go about this? On vacation right now... not the most political-minded person there is, but it sounds kind of interesting. I guess I'm looking for a short half-day sort of thing... not really into hours of listening to a tour guide and all that.

Any suggestions as to which tour I should take and how I should make a reservation??

Also, what is the difference between the Panmonjum Tour and the West Frontline DMZ tour??

And why do people enjoy these tours so much?? Sounds kind of depressing to me, no?

You want the full day IMO because you go into the JSA, which is cool. The other parts of the tour are quite boring but not so bad if you get smashed off North Korean beer.

Getting smashed is fun. Do you happen to have a link? All the tours I find say 'alcohol is stricly prohibited.'

The best tour is the USO tour. The USO caters to providing entertainment for the military and dependants but caters to civilians too. It will be the cheapest tour and covers pretty much everything that can be shown. Also the tour is done by the military so they can actually show you more than other tours like the blue buildings at the demarcation line. But usually you have to make an advanced reservation. Another thing is its pretty much a full day tour. You leave in the morning and arrive late afternoon.

Hi There,

For the full tour (USO) here is a link.

http://affiliates.uso.org/korea/

Email them on this website to book and pay. First check the calendar for dates.
