|
|
I am currently in the process of trying to receive my 2010 pension.
Basically, a Mr. C of the Pension Office has told me that for some reason, their office cannot transfer the funds into my Korean NH bank account.
I called my bank and asked them if there were any issues, and they told me that I was good to go, and that there were no "holds" or "freezes" on my account.
After going back and forth, he still arrived to the conclusion that my NH account would not let their office deposit money into my account and FINALLY deduced that for some reason he cannot "put my number into his computer".
I called NH again, and was told there was no problem.
When I called Mr. C again, he offered to send me a check, but I have no idea if this random check will even be accepted in Japan.
1. Has this happened to anyone?
2. Has anyone ever used a Korean check from the pension office abraod?
Because I am living abroad, I am unable to go to any of the local banks to sort out the issues. |

Give him banking details for your bank in Japan (or back home). They can place funds into foreign banks, and have done so for many years. That's pretty much the way it's always been done because most people are gone from Korea when the Pension office decides to distribute the funds back to you. |

Unfortunately, the Japanese bank account is not in my name and, although being told I would be able to use that account, when it came down to it, I could not.
After a long battle and many phone calls between NH and NPS, they finally explained the problem to me: NPS did not update their electronic deposit system, meaning everyone who uses Nonghyup will have this exact same problem.
After dealing with me today, they said they are going to try to fix it "special" and so I'll see if it works. |

| Are you ever going to work in Korea again? If so, just leave the matter. You can get your pension the next time you work here. |

They fixed the problem, and no I don't think I am ever going to work in Korea again. |
