Hi all, just a question about renewal.
This is my forth contract here, but the first one where i didnt go home or on a vacation and require a totally new visa.
Anyway, I took my passport and ARC to immigration and all they did was write a new exit date on the back of the card. Is this correct?
It makes me a little nervous to have only some marker on the back of my ARC having my real exit date.
Thanks! |

Also, SB is written in the box on the back of the ARC.
What is this? |

Thats it, you're good to go no worries. Did the same myself a couple weeks ago.
Next year, however, anticipate an extra hurdle or two. New police check & maybe new diploma certification requirements. Plan ahead if it pertains.
SB, no idea. |

Provided you do not wish to travel abroad then that is all that is done (the mark on your ARC).
BE ADVISED however that you do NOT have re-entry privileges in the extended period. You will have to get a re-entry permit added to your passport. A multi-use re-entry permit is 50k won (apply at your local immigration office) unless you are from the UK. UK citizens get it free but must apply for it.
A single entry permit can be obtained at the airport before you travel and costs 30k won (again free for Brits).

Thanks for the responses!
I did negotiate a long break during December for a nice Christmas holiday, would a single entry addition do the trick? I would be going back to the states for 4 weeks and coming back to Korea early in January.
Also, where in the airport would you get that? Lines? |
