That's me! I was on the wait list but my recruiter says my NOA should be here next week.

I still haven't even received anything regarding a NOA. I was told I passed the interview and I should receive more info between June and August. Wasn't even wait-listed. I do know that all of the city positions are filled but are the rural placements that far behind? Orientation is about 3 weeks away.

Have you tried contacting your recruiter/EPIK?

I mailed them June 10, the day I was told by my recruiter that I was accepted.

I've heard it's first come first served, well I had an interview and got all my documents in pretty early, around the end of April, and the NOA and contract just arrived today.

Well up until yesterday I was waiting on the NoA/Contract package. The coordinator at the EPIK office sent me out the FedEx tracking number so now I know that they are in transit in Anchorage of all places.

I applied for the placement directly through EPIK, so I guess that the recruiter middleman had been taken out, but if the package is on its way I'd suggest that you ask your recruiter to give you the tracking number. It has certainly eased my mind about it, since now I know for sure I'll have enough time to process my visa etc.

I interviewed at the end of May and had everything in in early June. May be a while for me then. Nice name, by the way.

Was told not to contact EPIK as they are too busy and my recruiter apparently doesn't respond to emails that don't serve some direct benefit to them. Would be nice to know what exactly is going on so I can get on looking for other employment (or another recruiter, for that matter) if the EPIK position is no longer a possibility.

I'm getting pretty worried about this too. I've been told by the recruiter that it can take between 3 - 7 weeks to hear back from EPIK. What confuses me is how are we meant to be able to get a visa in time if it takes much longer?! Are we not meant to be there for orientation on August 17th? I leave my job next week, and my house the week after, based on that information,..I'm now craping it that I'm gonna be jobless & homeless!!

I'm hoping at this point that I will get posted for September, if anything at all. Being notified of an August placement this late is not enough time to short out my goodbyes and my finances. Hopefully we're not in this position in September for anyone leaving for that orientation:) Fingers crossed

Was that 3-7 weeks from today? At least your recruiter returns communication. Laughing I'm in the same boat as you. I left another ESL job after my contract was up in April and have been homeless and jobless since. Since I was offered a position with EPIK at the beginning of June, I didn't really get on looking into another job. I had managed to save enough money at my previous job to get me through to August, but funds are running low, especially if I have to wait a month or more longer than expected, or for a position that may or may never come about. For a government program EPIK seems pretty disorganized. Of course, everyone's NOA could be in the mail tomorrow... Just a part of the fun, I guess.

yeah i think the recruiter meant 3-7 weeks from the day she was emailing me, which obviously isn't very reassuring.

still had no word, are you still in the same position? are you applying to SMOE? i had my interview late june, was told i had passed very soon afterwards & now feel like i really don't have a clue what is going on. there is no way i'll be able to get my visa now in time for the august 17th orientation!

My recruiter said that he believes that those who have not heard anything thus far, should be looking forward to a late August placement. Unfortunately, unless you have heard that your NOA and contract are on there way, you will most likely receive a late August or later placement:(
