|
|
| I have my computer hooked up to my plasma so I can watch my dowloaded movies on the big screen. Currently Im running a very long S-video wire and a very long wire for sound. Works fine but a hassle to have this wire go across the whole house. Is there a wireless S-video option I can use? What about the sound? Any other options? |

HDMI carries both sound and video, but if your laptop has an older gfx card, it probably will not be able output HDMI.
You can send an HDMI signal wireless (it is expensive though)
As far as i know, S video can not be sent wireless.
But as the above poster said, you really need to upgrade that connection. The picture quality off of S cable is terrible. |

Frankly, I have to imagine the $$$ you would spend on any wireless option for HDMI or S-Video would be about equal to a new, media-dedicated PC. I've been considering this for a while, as I'm in a similar boat (though my cord is not at long). Also makes for good seeding on a torrent website. And, no need for a monitor b/c you have your TV.
Just my 2 cents. |
