I couldn't find anything on this question in particular:
I know you must take your passport and plane ticket out of Korea to collect pension. My question is that if I show them my plane ticket out, apply for my pension, and then do a visa run, will my new visa cancel my request for pension? |

Yes, it's long enough. When you give them the ticket at the pension office when youre setting up your refund, just show them the outgoing portion. If you show a return ticket, you may have a problem. |

Thanks. I hope you are right. I assume you have done this or know someone that has. Anyone with a case where the refund was refused? |

It's government office - inconsistency at its finest. I dont know anyone who had a problem except those who tried to get the refund without leaving the country (and a couple of them even got it). Best you can do is try it. If you get denied this time, it will still be there for you next time.
Also, dont mention that youre just doing a visa run. Tell them youre leaving for good if they ask. |

but isn't there also this rule that says you can only collect your pension once in your life? Don't quote me on this, but I don't think you can actually get your pension if your next job pays into it... |

I heard that too, and specifically from a Canadian. I think either it has been changed or never true. |

No. You pay into it.
I collected my pension on a same-day return flight to Fukuoka. Took some determination on my part at the pension office to get them to do it. That was in the summer of 2008. |

I've never heard this. Is anyone able to confirm or deny? |

I'm Canadian. I have cashed out pension twice now and am currently contributing again for the third time. |
