Well, where do you want to teach? Since it seems you have just started your job search for a public school, EPIK proper might be closed to you--they started interviewing in April and I believe that at this point they have filled most positions. They have definitely stopped taking applications. So that rules out much of the country, I suppose.
HOWEVER: Get in touch with a recruiter. The public schools in Gyeonggi province largely hire through them nowadays, and I've seen postings on Seoul's Craigslist for some of the smaller, further-from-Seoul cities in the past day or so. At this point in time you might find it difficult to be placed in a city with a subway station; again, you are looking into this a little later than the prime time to be searching and you want to start a little later than most schools need.
It is my understanding that Korvia does the vast majority of recruiting for public schools in Gyeonggi province, and have a great reputation. I would get in contact with them. Also, many recruiters nowadays recruit at least partly for public schools, so just posting your resume to a couple of job boards stating you want a public school beginning October would be a good idea. |
