|

Hi I currently work for a hagwon and when the term: the good, the bad, and the ugly is used, I would definitely rank it somewhere between the ugly and the uglier. I decided to quit and look for another position. and fortunately I got a very nice position and they hired me on the spot.
At the time of applying for the position I told the recruiter that I haven't notified the hagwon yet, but the only thing that she said to me was that if i'm contacting other recruiters I should tell them not to contact the school without asking me 1st because some recruiters will. (I know many of you had awful experiences with recruiters but this girl is an angel I must say)
few days ago, I notified the hagwon and they said I can go as soon as they find another teacher. But I have a feeling that they will just procrastinate until the very last minute because that's what they are specialized in.
So I was wondering if I would be able to just leave? (the contract doesn't specify anything about the quitting process apart from the money bit)
I know packing and leaving is difficult for E2 visa holders but since I have F4, I've been told that I can pretty much do what I want to do.
Can anyone tell me if this is true?
Would I need the letter of release? |

Yes, that is the beauty of the F4 Visa...you can pretty much do whatever you want. With the E-2 Visa, you are pretty much owned by the Hagwon owner and can't do sh*t. You do not require a letter of release and my advice is to just leave your hagwon and find greener pastures. |

Wait till pay day, make sure your stuff is in a safe location, go, don't look back, block their number from your phone, don't leave a forwarding address and don't let them know where you'll be working. Even better let them think you left the country.
Remember, the more notice you give them, the more chances they have to screw you over.
You have an F4, you're untouchable. |

You don't need to give notice nor do you need a LOR.
Just get paid and head for your new job.

omg that is so good to know.
There is a big possibility that I will get screwed over but when I had decided to find another position I have thought about it so I'm ready to put up with it.
Thank you all for responding to my post - you guys are awesome!! |
