Researchers have discovered that people with greater social relationships are 50 percent more likely to live longer than their socially reclusive counterparts.

In fact, a lack of friends is as damaging as smoking 15 cigarettes a day or being an alcoholic. It's also twice as damaging as obesity and more harmful than not exercising, according to the study.

This is why we give a shit about helping other people, it has roots in our selfish need to survive longer.

In other news, the sky is indeed blue.

If having good relationships with people is good for your health, then my relationship with my co-workers must be bad for my health. You can't get to choose who you work with (unless you're the employer of course).

I have never understood why news reporters mix correlation with causation. It's so simple yet always done.

Speaking of 'social' relationships, is it possible for someone to recommend to me a dating website that relates to my current status here in Cheonan city?

I don't know how to delicately word nor didn't know if it is appropiate to make such a topic here.

I'm only here for 5 months, but being a woman of 35 has its moments of having certain 'needs' met. Wink

Please PM any information. Thanks.

Poor non-exercising, fat, reclusive, smoking alcoholics must be dead before they're even born.

@ Illysook. Why are you such a crank? Getting lonely is part of the process when not in your regular environment. If you have nothing nice to TYPE, then just keep it to yourself . You don't even know me as a human being. SO BACK OFF!

I agree they are important for health physically, I just dont like what it does in terms of debits and slowed growth financially.
