So just a quick one-does anyone know if you can pack cans/packet foods in your hand luggage. I know I can pack them in my checked luggage but they're also heavy and my friends in Korea need, yes need, refried beans and tomato soup. |

Yes, packaged/canned food can go into your carry-on luggage. Cans have to be 100mL or less. |

Are you sure about that? I've been to airports where they wouldn't allow me to board with anything other than a few toiletries (other than stuff bought at duty free). I think that things like this vary a lot based on the airport in question and the orders of the day.
OP, you should call the airport to be sure. They can tell you exactly if you can carry on something or not. |

Very good point - I've flown out of Pearson in Toronto with food in my carry-on but Canadian airports do have different rules than other countries. |
