Any of you Android guys use any security for your phone?

The virus was found by the guys at Kaspersky Lab who identified the virus spreading in a text message. The virus is called the Trojan-SMS.AndroidOS.FakePlayer.a and is sent via text message to Android based phones. The message prompts you to install an application which is described as being a 13KB harmless media player app.
If you accept and install you open up your Android OS smartphone which gives the virus the ability to automatically send text messages to premium rate numbers silently in the background. |

In theory, yes. The Android Market apps should be safe.
IMO, anyone who goes ahead and installs something contained in a spam text deserves to get a virus.....whether it's a computer or a smartphone.
I thought this was something everybody has known about for years now. Don't click anything in a spam message/email!!! |

I noticed that and quickly disregarded it.......if the V3 Android version is anything like the V3 for Windows version........well, let's just say it may be 'compromised' in favor of certain Korean adware. |
