My original intention was to teach in China, but I have decided to choose to teach in Korea instead. Because my spouse is Korean, I will also be working on a F2 Visa.

My question is in regards to private tutoring. For those of you who do have a F series visa and have been involved in private tutoring, can you please explain how you go about doing this? Specifically:

- What exactly do you teach and how do you go about doing it?

- How do you develop a Curriculum?

- Is it difficult to get clients?

Thanks.

Define "difficult".

You have to ask what the students want. Conversation skills, e-mail writing, business English, etc.

Usually you choose a book to work from.

You can easily get jobs but it is not so easy to get good jobs.

Very telling.

Skeletal:

Needs assessment. Develop goals with learner needs in mind. Choose/develop appropriate textbooks/materials. Teach to your goal. Repeat.

This looks like a post by a guy who quite likely isn't married to a Korean but is looking for advice on how to find privates generally. If you're married to a Korean, isn't it pretty normal to get privates by having your wife find them for you?

Your wife?! Hehe...you and the OP...still helpless after all these years. Besides that childish notion, I don't think it is the OP's single question of three referencing how to find clients that is odd, is it? I mean, if the OP were to follow an "F" visa holders path of client acquisition, they would soon find themselves in hot water (yeah...E2 guy...put up some flyers...one on the power pole next to immigration). Now, the OP may be just that stupid, but it looks like a different kind of dumb to me.
