Hello All! I am new here at Dave's and looking forward to teaching in Korea with you all very soon and hope to meet some of you shortly!
I have a strange situation where I am trying to apply as an F-4 Visa Holder but my parents are still Korean citizens. The F-4 Visa requires the documents where they have given up their Korean citizenship but they haven't for personal reasons.
My question is.. Is there a way I can get a F-4 Visa without those papers. I was born in America but I had dual Korean citizenship until I was 17 and gave that up. Will that documentation do me any good or am I stuck applying as an E-2 Visa holder.
Thanks for your help! |

You should be able to get the visa since you held Korean citizenship before and renounced it. Do you have the documentation to show that you renounced your Korean citizenship?
The F-4 is for people that have held Korean citizenship in the past, or for the children/grandchildren of those who once held Korean citizenship.
I would contact the Korean consulate in your area to check, though. |
