|
|
Hello all,
I'm working with a recruiter in Korea right now, and have (apparently) gotten a job with a public school. The recruiter wants me to FedEx the following documents to her office in Korea:
1. Original BA degree or copy of degree apostilled
2. Sealed transcript
3. Statewide criminal record check apostilled
4. Two passport photos
5. Copy of passport
6. Two reference letters (academic or professional source)
7. TEFL certificate
I have all of these documents ready, and I know they are needed for the E2 visa which is applied for and obtained at the Korean General Consulate's here in the US. I'm currently in the US and can do all of the visa work while I'm here. What I don't understand is WHY I would need to FedEx these documents to a recruiter in Korea. I've already emailed the recruiter scans of the documents as well.
Anyone have a similar experience, or any advice? This all sounds odd. I taught in Korea in 2005, and never had to send any documents over. |

Those are what you need, however you do not need to send your original TOESL cert, just send a copy.
Also, dont use Fed-ex, use USPS if you are in the states.
They tightened up the visa requirements in 08 and they are going to do so again in 2010. |

You send the documents to the recruiter.
He forwards them to the school.
They go to immigration with your docements and apply for your visa confirmation number or issue your notice of appointment.
This is forwarded to you.
You take the number or NoA to the consulate, have your interview and get the visa sticker placed into your passport.
Hope that helps clear things up a bit for you.

Sounds about right, my recruiter didn't ask for passport photos or a copy of my passport to be sent with it. I has already sent a passport picture and a copy of my passport by email though |
