| Hello one and all. I'm an American currently working on an E-2 visa in Korea. My current contract ends in a few months (mid October) and I'm applying for a new esl job. I need to know the process for re-applying for a new E-2 visa for someone already in Korea. Mainly the criminal background check, how do I get an apostilled check from my local government office, while I'm in Korea? Any who have experience with the process please send a reply, I'll be very grateful. |

If you're currently teaching in Korea, then you can arrange an E2 visa transfer before your contract expires, once you have a new employer who's willing to hire you after you finish. Call Imma at 1345. All the best! |

| My old contract finished October 2nd. What I heard here and then had my school confirm with immigration, if you renew after September 1st you need to have the certified apostilled copy of your diploma. The old qualifications will no longer be accepted. Basically, unless you've got a certified apostilled copy of your diploma hanging around, it's going to be awfully difficult to extend or find a new job after September 1st. |
