I remember watching that ceremony love in '99. I would love to hear the exchange that went down after the Rose interview.
That was my first time seeing the Toney interview, but it's great how he never really gave Gray a chance. |

So he's a jerk because he calls Pete Rose out on breaking the rules he agreed to, and kept denying repeatedly until he was proven to be lying? Or is it because Toney is babbling about nothing and can't interview like a normal person without shouting "DETROIT"?
He asks the questions that everyone wants to know and says it like it is, something that's refreshing in sportscasting, which is basically a method for kissing the player's asses. Personally, it feels great to see Pete Rose squirm. |

Yeah, he is a complete ass for doing that to Pete Rose. It was a special night. It was about the last 100 years of baseball and this ass had to ruin one of the greatest hitters of all time evening by talking about something that was not relevant at the time.
You want to ask questions as such, try the right time and place. As an interviewer you would look more professional and other people would be willing to talk to you. Jim Gray is a scumbag in the industry. |
