I'm selling my 2003 Comet 250S. It was my first motorcycle and a great bike to learn on. I've ridden it for about a year. I originally bought the bike down in Chinju (near Busan) from another teacher who was getting ready to leave the country. Now it's time for me to move on and I'm selling my beloved "Bella."
When I first got the bike, I found some paperwork underneath the seat. The paperwork showed that there were two previous owners dating back to 2006 who were also English teachers (I can only assume so).
Because it's a naked style bike, it's really easy to handle and steer (compared with sport bikes). Also, the leaning position is easier on your back. The bike has a rear rack, that when combined with the rear passenger seat, is large enough to hold a box from Costco or a large backpack.
When I first got the bike, I would take it to your "local" mechanics shop for repairs and maintenance. I quickly found out that sometimes these guys weren't too good to Bella. They didn't take the time to do things right and sometimes made parts replacement with the wrong parts! (Clutch cable from a Daelim Citi110 instead of a 250 Comet, didn't fully engage the clutch!) So I found this place about 20 min. from my house that worked on import bikes. They were a little more expensive, but always did things right and were professionals through and through. Later I found a shop close by my house, an S&T shop that specializes in Hyosung (now S&T). I started taking my bike there and could see that these guys took pride in their craft. Well, I later found out this place was a well known S&T shop for CORA and other Korean motorcycle enthusiasts in my area of Seoul. Many riders would come to this specific shop to get their bikes fixed. From that point on I always took my bike there and fixed anything they told me to fix, never really asked for reasons because I know they're a trustworthy group of mechanics.
So far the following parts/maintenance have been replaced/performed on the bike:
Parts:
-Front tire-Shinko (replaced two months ago)
-Seat (replaced four months ago)
-Shifter
-Front and rear brake rotors (both replaced with the last few months)
-Air filter replacement
-Gas gauge replacement (underneath, inside of the tank)
-Speedometer cable replacement
Maintenance:
-Carburetor cleaning
-Oil changes using conventional oil every 300-350 Km
-Oil filter changes every 3rd oil change
-Routine chain lubrication
-Routine chain tightening
-Routine replacement of brake pads
-Brake fluid flushed and replaced
-Replaced left fork seal (leaking fork) and balanced forks
The bike is good to go. The only thing that I see that may need replacing in the future is the battery. It already survived one winter, don't know if it will survive another
I'm selling the bike for W1,000,000 OBO, but at the same time, I'm not in a hurry to sell. I'm open to any reasonable offers. Email me at or call me at if you want to set up a time to take a look at the bike~ (located in southeastern Seoul)
P.S. All paperwork is included. Bike was previously fully registered and insured. |
