Here's what the eco-fascists really want to do those of us who won't buy into their unscientific garbage: kill us violently. The ad was aired by the 10:10 Global campaign (funded in part with taxpayer money in the UK), and even depicts chidren being exploded into blood and guts by their teacher when they refuse to sign on to reduce their carbon footprints by 10% (I kid you not). They have been forced to pull the ad and issue an apology.

Notice the tell-tale smug, simpering liberal tone throughout the ad. These people know best, and if you disagree you're just going to have to be killed for the earth. Sorry Rolling Eyes

(warning, video is graphic):

Somehow my youtube is stuck on safety mode and wont let me check it out... found it on this site though if anyone else has the same issue:

http://sadhillnews.com/2010/09/30/1010-mini-movie-no-pressure-eco-terrorism-video

I'm pretty on-board with the math I've found on global warming (and the whole northwest passage through the Arctic ocean) but I think I'd rather turn this place into Venus instead of following these terrorists.

off to burn something...

That is really screwed up. A bunch of self-righteous, violent and judgemental pricks.

I dunno. It doesn't seem to me that the point of those ads was really to have the viewer come away thinking "Gee, if I don't get involved in 10:10, someone might murder me!!" I just took it as kind of a humorous riff on the idea of "no pressure", probably just meant to generate attention for the campaign.

It actually kind of reminded me of these coffee ads that Jim Henson of Muppet fame did early in his career. I don't know how to post a YouTube link, but you can do a search on "Wilkins Coffee".

Seemed more creepy than humorous.

Well I don't know what the viewer was supposed to think, but while we are on that subject it seems that there was precious little thinking going on among the people who conceived or authorized or produced that ad.

But it's rather par for the course. Emotion laden language and shock value have always been these guys stock-in-trade. Critical thinking not to mention basing studies on unrevised and peer-reviewed data just don't seem to be that high on the list.

For one example those who have doubts about AWG or who would like the science examined again are called "deniers" specifically to evoke comparisons with Holocaust deniers and to imply that they are on the same level of credibility.

I'm curious about how many people were involved in the chain responsible for greenlighting this ad.

Also, did anyone else notice that the only foreigner shown is one of those killed?
