|
|
I have been working with Hands for a while and the emails have stopped (or slowed down dramatically). they have my visa documents (criminal background, apstilled diploma photo copy, etc). Since i am working with other recruiters i am thinking about asking them to send my stuff back. I am not disqualifying them in any way but i would rather have the stuff so no matter which one finds me a spot i can quickly mail them the docs. rather than having to buy another set.
has anyone here asked for their stuff back? is that a big faux pas? I know it is a sign that i have lost faith in their services but will it black list me or cause any trouble i am not aware of? |

If you have accepted an offer from them, asking for your documents back is like telling them you are bailing.
If they are only looking and have not confirmed a job for you yet, why are they holding your documents? I think you jumped the gun and sent them too early. |

| they had a job lined up for me, i signed my half of the contract and sent the docs. The job fell through and they have been "looking" since then. That was early July. So since they have not really found anything i wanted to get the stuff back. |

| I sent an email to my recruiter the other day asking if they would mail my docs to another recruiter if I found another job, and they said they would no problem. |

I had the misfortune of working with one recruiter that swore he could get me placed in the city I wanted, only to tell me a week later he had found a brand new job on the other side of Seoul but was still somehow thirty minutes from my desired location (Think of the span between Ilsan and Yongin)
When I asked for my documents back, he hesitated and tried to argue he needed the money. If he needed it that bad, he wouldn't have screwed up!

| This is literally the only post I have seen regarding Hands. I'm going with them - I just sent my documents yesterday to them. They've been quite helpful. I hope they don't do to me what they seem to have done to you! Although I did fully complete the contract and scan the entire thing to them as soon as they sent it to me. |

There is no problem in asking for your docs back; they might even be relieved as they obviously are struggling to place you.
I had a similar problem with CDI. They accepted me, I sent them everything, but they couldn't find me a position in a city I wanted. I called them up and told them I had found a job myself then showed up at there office to collect my documents. No problem. |

| When i first came here I sent my documents to a recruiter because they told me that they found me a job that fit my criteria. When I finally received a hard copy of the resume it was not at all like we had discussed. I refused to sign and asked for my documents back. They refused and threatened to throw them in the garbage. I calmly shamed them saying something along the lines of 'no need to do something rash just because you are angry, we are all adults here." And asked them to send them to my new recruiter/school. They couriered them over, using the most expensive delivery method possible, which my new recruiter had to pay for. |

| I had one recruiter send my documents to another. They are your documents, you are in control. |

They might also be on vacation
I went through Hands also, and ironically I did ask them to send back my diploma, etc, and they found me a job mighty quick. Granted it's in a rural area, but I don't mind it here myself. Actually they found me a hagwon job too but I said no way. |

| i am not Anti-hands at all, i hope they DO find a place for me. they just cooled off after a quick flurry of activity so i figured i would shop with other recruiters as well. So basically i want my docs so the first one to place me (i mean ACTUALLY place me) wins. |
