What, in general, do people wear whilst teaching? I am moving to Busan shortly and am trying to pack...
(Have emailed school as well but not had a response yet...)

Business casual. Don't bring a ton of shirts without sleeves. Also nothing low-cut. And a few outfits that are more formal/nicer for special events where you need to dress up a bit more.

The FTs at my elementary/middle school hagwon wear jeans and polo shirts. As the only female teacher, I stick to t-shirts and skirts. You're going to want something that's comfortable to stand in all day. Nothing low cut is also a good rule of thumb.

Most kiddy hagwons let you wear whatever, minus the Iron Maiden tshirt. Public schools usually go for jeans and polo shirts, but be smarter for the first week or so. Bring a suit, you'll end up doing some kind of open class for parents/education board at some point, and going to a wedding.

A suit and tie. Anything less is low-brow, slovenly, and unprofessional.

Bring some formal-ish stuff that isn't gunna be unbearable in hot weather. Can dress down depending on how the other fts/kteachers are. I started wearing shirts/dress pants but now it's just t-shirts and jeans. Same as my Korean workmates.

I'm going to my first Korean wedding in 3 weeks, glad I brought a suit.

I work kindy/elem hagwon. T-shirt and shorts everyday or a polo. I brought some nice dress shirts and ties which I have worn about 3 times in 6 months plus docker pants to go with a polo to look a little more nice for some events with parents. I say just bring a decent range of clothes and you will get a feel for what you will be wearing early on.
